Adrenal glands are endocrine glands situated at the upper pole of both the kidneys. The two major hormones secreted by the adrenal gland are aldosterone and cortisol. Aldosterone is a mineralocorticoid and has an important role in maintaining sodium/salt levels in the body. A low level of aldosterone is associated with low body sodium, vomiting, lethargy sometimes seizures.

Cortisol is a glucocorticoid which is important in many functions of the body including maintenance of blood sugar level and blood pressure. When this hormone is not secreted the patient present with low blood sugars, low exercise tolerance, hypotension.

With appropriate diagnosis and adequate treatment, such patients get complete relief.
